Founder & Director Dr Christiana Sampson
For over twenty years, I have worked with individuals experiencing complex and enduring psychological distress. Many emotional and relational difficulties develop within the context of relationships and lived experience, shaping how we understand ourselves, relate to others and engage with the world. My work is grounded in the belief that these challenges are understandable responses to experience, rather than inherent flaws.
I support individuals who experience complex trauma, personality-related difficulties, emotional regulation challenges and longstanding interpersonal patterns. Across therapeutic, assessment and consultative contexts, my focus is on understanding how these difficulties emerged and how they continue to influence current functioning. This approach aims to support greater stability, insight and more workable ways of relating and managing risk. My goal is to help people and organisations make sense of complexity, restore balance and move forward with increased clarity and confidence.
My approach is rooted in attachment theory and I am trained in a variety of therapeutic models, including including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT), trauma-focused approaches and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, I work collaboratively to develop thoughtful formulations that explore underlying patterns maintaining distress
I bring a compassionate, transparent and reflective stance to all aspects of my work. Whether working therapeutically, providing assessments, or supporting organisations, I aim to offer a safe, containing and professional space in which strong emotional material can be held with care. I have extensive experience working within the criminal justice system and am comfortable working with complexity and risk.
In addition to therapeutic work, I am qualified to undertake comprehensive psychological and risk assessments, and to prepare expert witness reports in both the UK and Bermuda
Testimonials
I felt supported, heard, and encouraged. To be honest I felt a bit of apprehension at the beginning due to my profession, but that immediately went away after meeting with Dr. Christiana.
